2005 SJWA War at the South Jersey Shore Folk Style National Championships

The 2005 Edition of the SJWA Championships was bigger and better than the 2004 National Championships event wrestled on the beach within sight of the breakers rolling in from the ocean. More than 1200 wrestlers convened on the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean in Wildwood to see who could bring it.

March 25 and 26, 2005 - the 2nd Annual SJWA "War at the South Jersey Shore" National Folkstyle Wrestling Championships at the beautiful Wildwood Convention Center in Wildwood, NJ.

Divisions / Weights / Rules from 2005

IMPORTANT: Wrestlers MUST make weight or they will not wrestle; no one will be allowed to change weights at weigh-in. There will be no weight allowance whatsoever. You must fill in your weight on the registration form; you have until one week prior to the tournament (Saturday, March 19, 2005) to change your weight to something else. You MUST notify the SJWA prior to 11:59 PM, Saturday night, March 19, 2005 if you plan to wrestle a different weight than you indicated on your application. Notification may be made via email (Change@SJWrestling.com) , fax, or phone message.

  • Tournament Details and Registration Info: The tournament is a scholastic-style tournament that features a double-elimination wrestle-back to second format (if the third place wrestler did not lose to the second place wrestler in the Semi-Final round, he may challenge the runner-up for second place. More details are available on the Registration Form (Word format, Adobe format). We have had early indications that teams from Blair Prep (NJ) and Christiansburg HS (VA) - both top 25 teams in the country - plan to join last year's OUTSTANDING roster of attendees.
